This elegant soft motka muslin is half plain motka & half pure muslin with colorful floral work. The pallu is a combination of motka & muslin .The motka forms the pleats & the muslin drapes the body with a flowing pallu. .Pair it with a simple jewelry or jazz it up with some traditional jewelry.
Motka & Muslin ,both are a fine textile of Bengal.
The Matka silk, commonly known in India as a rough handloom variety of silk, is woven in the towns of Malda and Murshidabad in West Bengal. This particular variety of silk is made from Mulberry silk .The texture of Matka silk is rough; it vaguely resembles linen though it does have the sheen that silk is so famous for. Depending on the amount of the yarn used to make Matka silk, the material’s thickness can be adjusted.
To make muslin, the cotton yarn has to be spun to be as fine as possible. Once the yarn was fine enough, it is handwoven using looms
